We are pleased to announce that our Greensense Posterboard software is up and running at Frasers’ recently opened UniLodge @ Central Park student accommodation building in Sydney’s new downtown destination – Central Park. The facility, named The Steps, is part of the Central Park re-development of the old Carlton & United Brewery site and is a far cry from your average student digs: Blending old with new, architect Tonkin Zulaikha Greer designed the residence to incorporate an old warehouse façade and a heritage laneway – making The Steps possibly the hippest place in Sydney to drink a soy-latte or your favourite craft beer!

The Steps have certainly set a new benchmark in student accommodation by providing a world-class mix of facilities and learning, professional and social opportunities. To help educate students on how their behaviour directly impacts their buildings’ performance, and to showcase the extensive environmental credentials of the Central Park precinct, Greensense Posterboard was selected to deliver the occupant engagement solution. This is achieved by integrating with real-time data from the building management system, and elsewhere, to tell a series of easy-to-understand stories around the environmental performance of the building, from where to park your bike, to how much energy the building is taking from the precinct level tri-generation system – see the screenshot below.  This is all then displayed on screens in public areas around the building. In the coming months we’re looking forward to hearing how the students of The Steps are engaging with their building and learning about energy efficiency – a truly holistic educative centre!
