How the Greensense energy monitoring system works

Greensense Platform Overview

Connecting to your building’s data

The first step is to automate the collection of data on energy, water or gas out of your buildings. There are often a number of different sources for this data, including your electricity and water utilities, meter data agents, building management systems and sub metering networks.

Each of these data sources will often provide data in a range of different formats and over different timeframes. The Greensense platform is able to connect to a wide range of systems including all the leading Building Management Systems on the market, from vendors such as Siemens, Schneider, Alerton, Honeywell and Johnson Controls, as well as to middleware platforms such as Tridium’s Niagara framework. In addition, we can integrate directly to metering networks. We are 100% hardware agnostic.

For clients with onsite renewable energy systems, we can also integrate with the most common brands of inverter.

Telling the story

Greensense is all about sharing sustainability data in a way that stakeholders find engaging, relevant and actionable.

There are many different audiences interested in building sustainability performance – executives, sustainability teams, facilities managers and the people that use buildings every day – and it is important to recognise that these groups each have differing needs in terms of data and presentation.

The Greensense platform includes three separate products, each specifically developed to support these roles. To find out more, take the Product Tour.
